He also had the honour of singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the original WrestleMania. In the same decade, Gene even stepped into the ring on one unforgettable occasion, teaming with Hulk Hogan to defeat Mr. Fuji and George "The Animal" Steele. Fondly remembered by WWE fans of all generations for his distinct voice and interviewing style, Gene became a WWE Hall of Famer in 2006.
